Realtor Training Continues Keep Learning

So you got your license, Realtor training continues keep learning!

You made the big decision to become a Real Estate Salesperson, get ready because Realtor training continues keep learning. Well, any job you go to, you need training.  No matter how much schooling you got, you still can’t do the job without some help.

There is nothing worse than a cocky Salesperson!

You will always be in somewhat of a training mode as a Real Estate Salesperson.  Yes, some of the fundamentals will stay the same. Like how to measure a home, how to figure out the good points and the bad points of the home you are either helping a Vendor to sell or a Buyer to buy.

When the market changes, at times, it is not easy to price a home.  A few years ago, saw a huge increase in pricing. The job of pricing became quite challenging as there were no longer set market to go by.  Also the Clients based their need to sell on what price others were selling their homes for, not taking into account what they may not have in their homes compared to their neighbours.

How do you respond to this? Realtor training continues keep learning!

Do you know how to price a home? How do you deal with WETT inspections, Septic issues, Roof issues, Leans on properties, Foreclosure. Do you understand all the paperwork you are presenting?  Do you understand the conditions that may be in an Offer?

What about the Real Estate world of rules to follow?  Do you know them? Do you know what the Real Estate of Ontario has as rules for every aspect of your career?  What about MLS? What about Canada Revenue Agency? Fintrac?

What about your boards advertising rules?

Marketing yourself? Marketing your Client(s)” home/land?  Social Media? Rules on your signs/cards/flyers etc. Do you know it all?  Do you keep up with all new rulings?

Never get too big for your britches.  You will need to learn. If there are meetings in your brokerages, attend.  This is an opportunity for you to learn new things and to stay current with what is out there.

Go on caravan listing tours with other brokerages.

This is a good way to see what’s available out there for your clients.  Yes you can see it on the internet, but lots can’t be seen except professionally at the home itself. Listen to other Realtors perspective of each home seen. Learn by osmosis!

Ask questions?  Don’t be a know-it-all!

Make yourself the best Salesperson you can be by having an open mind, constantly learning, moving with the changes in our world. The brokerage you choose is key to your future, your earning capability, your learning advantages. Choose wisely and keep on learning!
